Who is StoryBook Ceramics?
StoryBook Ceramics is a family owned art pottery. We have a diverse, large and dynamic family group that adds a wide range of perspectives and talents to our work. We are located in a small, Southern community of less than 1000 people near the Georgia border.
Our family is Jewish, and our immediate family of seven children plus their spouses includes European, Cuban, Filipino and African American members. It makes for interesting holiday meals!
My husband is a native of Key West, FL. He is a former computer hardware specialist and ISP owner. He is our master mold maker, and runs the entire backend operation. His duties range from pouring the slip in the molds, through cleaning the greenware, and then to glazing and firing the kilns. He gets to play in the mud every day and thinks it is a fine way to make a living.
I was raised in Seattle WA, and have a degree in English. I worked formerly as a senior software engineer. I am the primary artist, and spend most days putting the color to Kevins work. Most software related tasks, such as web mastering and creating online ads and stores belong to me. I am the primary online contact for our company. I answer mail, and make quotes and arrangements for custom work. Kevin handles the phones.
Our children help with a variety of different tasks along the way. Many of our products are direct brainstorms from one of the kids. They are a constant asset to the company, and we are grateful for their energy and ideas.
We hope you will enjoy our products. We put a great deal of effort, time and thought into each piece we make. Each package we sent is mailed with the hope that the piece inside will exceed the expectations of the customer who receives it.

Can I buy bisque from Storybook Ceramics?
We offer bisque and unfinished chalkware for nearly every item in our product lines for those who prefer to paint their own cookie jars and collectibles.
Bisque prices are 50% off the finished retail price for professionally cleaned bisque, fired to cone 03. If you aren't familiar with kiln terminology, cone 03 is the industry firing standard for creating durable ceramics that will used on a regular basis.
If you don't have access to a kiln for refiring, we can also glaze the inside of your cookie or treat jar with lead-free food safe glaze before your order is shipped. This will allow you to finish the outside of the jar with acrylic paints or stains and still have a food safe container for use. For items you select to be glazed, there will be a $5.00 charge per piece for the materials and kiln time.
Because of the nature of our product line, our bisque items are indelibly marked on the underside with our logo to prevent confusion later on in the collector's market.
To order bisque from us, simply send us a note at info@storybookceramics.com, and we will work with you to create and finalize your order through the email address you provide. You will have the option of making payment for your selections through PayPal, check or money order, or your credit card.
Bisque items can usually be ready to ship within 7-10 days from the time of payment, unless weather conditions or holiday buying has us running behind. If you need the bisque in a particular time frame, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your schedule.

When can I expect my purchase to ship?
ORDER FULFILLMENT:Our vintage style pottery is carefully cast, hand-decorated and then fired in our kilns just for you. It normally takes between seven and twenty-one days to create your order. Around holiday times, the volume of orders requires a little more time to make and ship our pottery. Allowing us this time ensures that every piece is made with the care and attention to detail you deserve.
